How Is Laser Skin Resurfacing Performed?
When you are scheduled for a deeper or more intense skin resurfacing treatment, you may be asked to use a retinoid product for a few weeks before your laser procedure. If your complexion only needs mild correction, a topical anesthetic may be used to numb treated areas where the laser will target. For the whole complexion or more intense laser treatments, some form of sedation may be used. Throughout the procedure, you will relax in our treatment chair while the laser handpiece glides over your skin, directly targeting the specific sections for improvement. You will feel the heat of the laser, followed by cold air from the built-in cooling system. The laser energy works to eliminate damaged skin cells while also prompting new collagen production.
